RIVERSIDE, CA — In a deeply moving display of patriotism and gratitude, veterans, community leaders, and citizens gathered under the canopy at the Riverside National Cemetery for a special commemorative event centered around "The Gift" statue, honoring the sacrifices of Native American veterans and all who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The ceremony was marked by a profound sense of unity and remembrance, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to pay their respects.

Event Highlights
Solemn Presentation of Colors: The event commenced with a formal presentation of colors by a joint-service military color guard. Attendees stood in quiet reverence as the American flag, along with the flags of the various military branches, were presented before the assembled crowd in the cemetery's outdoor amphitheater.

Musical Tributes: Adding a poignant touch to the proceedings, a musical duo took the stage. Accompanied by acoustic guitars, their performance under the blue ceremonial tent provided a reflective and uplifting atmosphere for the audience.

Distinguished Speakers: The podium welcomed several esteemed speakers who shared heartfelt remarks. Notably, a distinguished Native American leader, wearing a traditional bolo tie and a centennial commemorative pin, delivered a powerful address. His words underscored the enduring legacy and disproportionately high rates of military service among Native American communities.

Honoring Combat Veterans: The gathering was attended by numerous decorated veterans, including Purple Heart recipients, whose presence served as a living testament to the true cost of freedom. Throughout the ceremony, speakers stepped down from the podium to personally shake hands and express profound gratitude to these heroes seated in the front rows.

Veteran Testimonials: An elder veteran, taking the stage later in the program, shared his personal reflections. The exchange of mutual respect between the speakers and the diverse audience of veterans and active-duty personnel highlighted the deep bonds forged in service.
